The founders of MSA represent a diverse group of experienced individuals who are committed to providing the best possible educational experience to students in Utah. They have adopted a collaborative approach to forming and managing the school, with a Governing Board (the “Charter Council”), three functional directors to oversee the day-to-day aspects of the school’s formation (the “Directors”), and a committed advisory board to assist in the design, planning, and implementation projects involved in the school’s formation (the “Community Council.”)

The MSA Charter Council, Directors and Community Council form a group uniquely qualified to govern a charter school from start-up to operation. They offer years of experience in teaching, educational policy, board governance, business management, business finance, real estate, construction, accounting, policymaking, budgeting, law, strategic planning, and human resources. They have run organizations of every size, analyzed data, made key decisions, advocated, sponsored and drafted legislation, both delegated authority and had authority delegated to them, supervised personnel and have been supervised. In short, MSA possess the experience and tools needed to successfully start and govern a charter school.

Mountain Sunrise Academy is regularly accepting applications for additional Community Council Members.  Members of the Community Council who contribute the required hours of work will be defined as founders and have the potential for preference in the enrollment lottery.

In addition, other interested individuals are always welcome to participate in the activities and events planned by the MSA Charter and Community Councils.  For more information in getting involved, please contact an MSA director.
